Iyengar yoga focusses on detail, precision and alignment of poses to develop develop strength, mobility and stability.
This class is follows the Hampshire school term dates, and students are asked to pre-pay for the term. Prices varies slightly each term owing to fluctuations in the number of weeks in the school term, but are kept as low as possible.

The class teacher is Maria Bird, Intermediate Junior 1 Iyengar Yoga Teacher.
Maria has been practicing and teaching yoga for 30 years. She qualified in the Iyengar method in 2003 and continues to study with her own senior teacher. Working with the Kingsclere community for over 15 years now, she continues to teach a general class once a week on Tuesday evenings at Kingsclere Village Hall. She teaches with sensitivity, humour and discipline to find the best in each student; adjusting postures whilst supporting those with physical ailments and challenges.
Her practice and teaching style follow the Iyengar method, which involves the use of props and hand on adjustments to aid and assist in a deeper understanding of the posture ('asana'). It focuses on alignment and precision to explore a greater connection to the inner workings of the mind and spirit. Yoga is for all and is tool to connect the mind and body to enhance wellbeing and assist in the ups and downs of life.
